Design for Disasters

Amidst the current pollution and disasters of the 21st century world, there is a pressing need for innovative solutions to create and use sustainable tents. The current tent material is not environmentally friendly, poorly recyclable, and only lasts up to 10 years.

To address this issue, I joined the "Design for Disasters" project with a focus on material innovation. By using 3D printing on PVC truck sails, the material becomes stronger, more durable, and multifunctional. This innovation will lead to the creation of 3D printed tents suitable for refugees and festival-goers, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative.

The project is not limited to PVC; it can also be used with plastic PET, making it even more versatile. I am currently collaborating with scientists, technicians, and other creators to broaden our expertise and work together towards creating new designs and innovations for 3D printed tents.

As a work in progress, this project is continually growing and evolving, with plans for larger-scale tests in the future. By exploring new ways to use technology and sustainable materials, we can create a better world for all and tackle the challenges of the 21st century.
